Square Mile Investment Consulting & Research (Square Mile) has reinstated a rating of A to the Standard Life Investments Global Index Linked Bond and awards an A rating to the Goldman Sachs Strategic Income Bond. The list, which is free for financial advisers to access, forms part of Square Mile's Academy of Funds, a dedicated section of its website showcasing Square Mile's qualitative fund research and analysis.

Funds within the Square Mile Academy of Funds are A, AA, or AAA rated reflecting the level of conviction Square Mile's analysts have in a fund's ability to deliver on expectations. There is an emphasis on a fund's investment outcome helping advisers ensure their recommendations are in line with clients' expectations.

Standard Life Investments Global Index Linked Bond - A rating

Victoria Hasler, Head of Research said "The rating was suspended on the Standard Life Investments Global Index Linked Bond in December 2014 while Square Mile reviewed the impact of changes to the management team. Following a full review, we have decided to reinstate the A rating on the fund. Katie Forbes and Adam Skerry are, in our view, competent and experienced managers who are more than capable of running this mandate, having already been heavily involved in the management of the fund for some years. In addition, the integration of the real returns team to work more closely with the rates team gives us confidence that the managers will have access to an experienced support network.

Goldman Sachs Strategic Income Bond - A rating

Tom Poulter, Investment Research Analyst said "This fund is attractive as it gives investors access to the deep and impressive fixed income resources at Goldman Sachs, as well as being an effective diversifier in portfolios. The fund has very little correlation with most of the major asset classes, including government bonds and equities."
