Short Term Manager Change For The Kames High Yield Bond and Kames Strategic Bond Funds

Kames Capital has today announced that Phil Milburn, co-manager on their High Yield Bond and Strategic Bond funds, is taking a short sabbatical. This will commence immediately and Kames expect Mr Milburn to return to full duties early in the New Year.

The Kames High Yield Bond fund will continue to be run by the highly experienced and well-regarded Claire McGuckin, with support from the wider fixed income team at Kames. In addition, Stephen Baines has been named as Support Manager for the fund. Mr Baines has already been assisting Mr Milburn and Miss McGuckin on the fund in a more informal capacity and we welcome this formalisation of his role.

The Kames Strategic Bond fund also has a very experienced and able co-manager in Kames' Co-Head of Fixed Income David Roberts. In addition Kames are appointing a third Co-Manager on the fund, Colin Finlayson. Mr Finlayson has been supporting the aforementioned pair on the their Global Strategic mandates for some time, and we have no doubt that he will be a useful and welcome addition to the fund.

Whilst we are sad that Mr Milburn's ill health has necessitated this short leave of absence, we have no concerns regarding the ongoing management of these funds. We believe that the co-managers and wider fixed income team are more than capable of managing these mandates during Mr Milburn's absence and, in addition, we welcome the extra support that has been put in place. We wish Mr Milburn a speedy recovery and look forward to his return to Kames and these funds early in 2016.
