Square Mile Quiz Night Raises £16,287 for charity

Square Mile Investment Consulting and Research hosted its annual charity quiz night last night raising £16,287.57 for four charities. Staged at The Gable on Moorgate, a cross spectrum of asset management groups and financial services businesses fronted 31 tables, each paying £325. This raised £10,551 which will go directly to Breast Cancer Now.

Further funds were raised by a raffle and auction of prizes donated by those attending, the proceeds of which will be shared among charities nominated by the top three teams and Breast Cancer Now. BMO were the winners with Backup Trust being their chosen charity. Fulcrum and Standard Life Investments came in at second and third place nominating Brain Tumour Unit Southampton and Alzheimers Society respectively. Each of these charities will receive £1,434.14.

Richard Romer-Lee, Square Mile's managing director said, "There was a very positive combination of camaraderie and rivalry among the City's leading personalities vying to secure the pole position in fast-paced trivia. Despite this hot competition, four very worthy charities will benefit significantly from the generosity of the donors and those taking part in the quiz."
