We are pleased to announce the addition of the AXA Framlington UK Mid Cap fund to Square Mile's Academy of Funds and have awarded it an A rating.

Whilst the manager, Chris St John, has only managed the fund since its launch in March 2011, he is a manager we have monitored for some time. He has consistently applied his investment approach for over 10 years delivering a robust set of returns in both the mid- and small-cap areas of the UK market.

In essence, this is a sensibly managed fund that seeks to meet its investment objective in a steady and reliable fashion, it therefore offers solid exposure to a specialist area of the market. In addition, it is run by a manager who is an integral member of a team that we hold in high regard.
