Square Mile Investment Consulting and Research, announces that Andy Pomfret has joined the board of Square Mile and assumed the role of chairman with immediate effect. Simon Davies, Square Mile's chairman since launch three years ago, has stood down as he has moved abroad.

Andy's career in financial services spans over 30 years. Most recently, he spent 10 years as the chief executive of Rathbones Brothers plc, the FTSE250 wealth manager where he worked until 2014. Prior to Rathbones he spent 13 years at Kleinwort Benson in corporate finance, development capital and as finance director of the investment management business. He is currently a non-executive director of Sanne Group plc, Interactive Investor plc and three investment trusts. He is also a director of the Wealth Management Association and a member of the Prudential Regulation Authority Practitioner Panel.

Richard Romer-Lee, Square Mile's managing director said, "Andy has an impressive and successful career in financial services. He also has extremely credible market and regulatory insight, drawn from his involvement with influential industry bodies. As such, he will play a central role in steering Square Mile as it meets the evolving needs of its clients."

"Simon has been an incredible support to Square Mile and has played an invaluable part in building the business and securing its ongoing success. He will continue to act as an adviser to Square Mile."

Andy Pomfret said, "In only three years, Square Mile has become a well-established, respected leader in investment consulting and research; no mean feat given the highly competitive nature of its sector. I believe Square Mile will play an increasingly important role in ensuring investors achieve the outcomes they expect as a greater onus is placed on all aspects of governance in asset management and financial advice. I look forward to helping the team navigate the business through the next phase of its development."
