We are delighted to announce the rating of two new funds to the Square Mile Academy of Funds. We have awarded the Artemis US Absolute Return fund and the Ashmore Emerging Markets Short Duration fund both an 'A' rating.

Although the Artemis US Absolute Return fund was launched only at the end of 2014, Stephen Moore has been managing money in this format since 2010 and has an impressive record of providing consistent absolute returns and protecting capital in market downturns. That protection comes primarily from the fund's low net market exposure. Returns are generated almost entirely from stock selection and the fund can demonstrate a consistent record of alpha generation on both long and short investments.



The Ashmore Emerging Markets Short Duration fund has an attractive total return objective of 5-8% net of fees, which it seeks to generate through investing in emerging market corporate bonds, predominantly those denominated in US dollars. We are impressed with the investment committee process at Ashmore and believe the fund should provide investors with an attractive income stream over a market cycle.
