Eduardo Sánchez joins Square Mile

Square Mile Investment Consulting and Research (Square Mile) confirms a new appointment with Eduardo Sánchez joining the company as Senior Investment Research Analyst. Eduardo will be responsible for maintaining Square Mile’s universe of rated funds with a particular focus on the fixed income sector, while identifying and researching new ideas for consideration by the broader team. He will report to John Monaghan, Head of Research. This new role brings the total number of investment professionals at Square Mile to 18.

Eduardo has 20 years’ investment industry experience and was most recently Fixed Income Senior Lead Analyst at Santander Asset Management (SAM), a position he held from 2012 to late 2019. In this role, he was responsible for recommending strategies across US, global and European high yield debt, subordinated debt, emerging market debt and flexible fixed income and strategic bond funds. This saw him researching, selecting and monitoring fixed income funds for SAM’s Global Multi Asset and Pension Funds teams as well as for Santander Private Banking's Global Focus List of recommended funds.

Prior to this, Eduardo was Portfolio Manager, Fund of Funds at Inverseguros Gestión where he managed a range of global equity, emerging market debt, high yield, real estate and absolute return funds of funds. As Deputy Portfolio Manager he also co-managed directly invested portfolios of European corporate and government bonds. He was previously Portfolio Manager, Funds of Funds at International Capital Research for seven years. Eduardo is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and holds the IMC and a degree in Business Studies from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
