New Fidelity Talking Factsheet

We have added a new Talking Factsheets to the Square Mile Academy of Funds. Talking Factsheets is a service for users of the Square Mile Academy of Funds, combining Square Mile's independent, qualitative fund research with accessible video content. The Talking Factsheets feature Square Mile's team of analysts reviewing the objectives and risks and giving their view of funds drawn from the Rated, Recommended and Positive Prospects lists.

Reinstatement of a A-rating for AXA Distribution Fund

Square Mile Investment Consulting & Research confirms the reinstatement of the AXA Distribution fund to the Academy of Funds with an A-rating, following its suspension when manager Richard Marwood left the business in February 2016.

Square Mile's recommended funds, which sit within the Academy of Funds, carry a rating - A, AA, AAA, R or P+ - as reflection of the level of conviction Square Mile's team of analysts has in a fund's ability to deliver on expectations. Square Mile's independent, qualitative research is designed to offer advisers a solid foundation for client investment propositions and recommendations.

Square Mile Property Update – September 2016

Following our decision in July to suspend the recommended ratings on all the funds in the Academy of Funds which invest in physical property, we would like to update investors as to the events which have unfolded over the summer months.

Following the Brexit referendum, the UK commercial property market saw significant outflows from retail investors. To put this into perspective, the order of magnitude of outflows in June alone was around four times that of those seen during the financial crisis. This clearly caused huge issues for managers investing in what has always been a very illiquid asset class.

A-rating for Artemis US Smaller Companies fund; suspension of the Recommended rating on L&G UK Property fund lifted

Square Mile Investment Consulting & Research has added the Artemis US Smaller Companies fund to its Academy of Funds, awarding it an A rating. The fund aims to achieve long term capital growth by investing principally in smaller companies listed, quoted or traded in the United States of America. At the same time, the L&G UK Property fund has had the suspension of its Recommended rating removed.

The Academy of Funds is a dedicated section within Square Mile's website, where advisers can access analysis on all recommended funds. Each fund carries a rating - A, AA, AAA, R or P+ - as a mark of quality and a reflection of the level of conviction Square Mile's team of analysts has in a fund's ability to deliver on expectations.
