Blackrock European Absolute Alpha - Rating Upgrade
We are pleased to announce that we have upgraded our rating of the Blackrock European Absolute Alpha fund from A to AA.
It is now more than two years since Stephanie Bothwell became the fund’s co-manager and she has proved an outstanding replacement for David Tovey, who had been the fund’s co-manager between 2017 and 2021. Stefan Gries, meanwhile, has been a constant as the fund’s other co-manager since 2013 and his promotion to Head of European Equities at Blackrock almost a year ago has not had any discernible impact on his role in managing the fund.
The co-managers continue to execute the fund’s investment strategy in a highly disciplined and consistent manner. Other compelling features are the fund’s low net market exposure, steady and uncorrelated returns and its excellent record of protecting investors’ capital in times of stock market turmoil.
