We are recruiting for a Business Development Director to join our small and dynamic business based in the City of London - and we're looking for an equally dynamic person to join our journey.

About Square Mile

Square Mile is an independent investment research business that works in partnerships with regulated professional financial services firms. We work with advisers to help them develop informed investment recommendations so that, with their support, their clients can make decisions that are right for them. Focusing first and foremost on in depth, qualitative fund research, we provide tailored support and investment services for financial advisers and institutions.

The role

This role with work with the wider Distribution team to develop and execute the sales strategy to drive commercial growth of the business and will focus on clients and opportunities in the North of the UK. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and developing client relationships across both our Managed Portfolio and Consultancy services.

  • Overseeing other members of the team in their duties for managing client relationships.

  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of Square Mile’s services and the benefits for our potential client base.

  • Managing the full sales cycle, maintaining and converting a pipeline of leads with support from key stakeholders.

  • Represent Square Mile at suitable events, ensuring our services are well understood.

  • Maintain an understanding of industry trends and the challenges of our potential client base.

This is a full-time role, and although Square Mile’s offices are based in the City of London, we do operate within a flexible working environment and we are happy to create a working programme that support both you and us.

What about you?

You will:

  • Be able to demonstrate a successful track record of creating and executing a business development plan, managing and enhancing client relationship.

  • Have experience working within the financial services industry, preferably an understanding of selling Managed Portfolio and Consultancy services.

  • Have experience in managing internal stakeholders.

  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Be self-motivated and able to work under pressure.

We're a small team of people, so you'll also need to be able to build close relationships quickly with your colleagues.
