Square Mile supports CASCAID

CASCAID brings together colleagues from the asset management industry to raise money for charity. After a successful 2017, when CASCAID topped £2.35 million for Cancer Research, CASCAID is now fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Square Mile are proud to support this initiative through a number of fundraising activities.

Fundraising for 2019

Royal Parks Half Marathon - October 2019

Square Mile are putting together a team for the Royal Parks Half Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 13th October 2019. A great excuse to get fit whilst supporting a fantastic cause.

Annual Quiz - September 2019

Participants at the sixth annual pub quiz and auction on 17th September have helped raise over £17,700. Hosted at The Gable in the City, the quiz was attended by over 160 people in teams of five representing 32 companies from across the financial services industry.

The quiz master was once again James Crossley of L&G Investment Management who delivered 11 keenly contested sets of questions, including three music rounds.   A team fronted by BNY Mellon Investment Management was top of class at the end of the evening, with Jupiter and River and Mercantile coming in at joint second place.

Swimming Windermere Out and Back - July 2019

Jamie Farquhar has completed a 36km swim – over 22 miles – across Lake Windermere, raising over £7,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Battling through waters at temperatures of 16 degrees, he set out at 5am to swim from the northern end of the lake to the south, before turning around and swimming back. In all, the challenge took him 14 hours and 34 minutes to complete.

A fantastic achievement!

Square Mile Feeling Peaky - June 2017

Square Mile took on the Three Peaks challenge in June 2017, thoroughly enjoying what proved to be a difficult task. Ben Nevis was kind, but Scafell Pike and Snowdon greeted us with low cloud, high winds and driving rain.

The team raised over £14,000 on behalf of CASCAID and Cancer Research UK.
