PIMCO Ratings Maintained

The recent announcement that PIMCO's co-founder and co-CIO Bill Gross is to leave the company is the latest in a series of pieces of bad news for the firm. It follows a spell of poor performance and outflows from PIMCO's flagship Total Return fund and the announcement this week that the SEC are investigating returns on one of PIMCO's exchange-traded funds.

M&G Property Portfolio added to the Academy of Funds

Square Mile Investment Consulting & Research has added M&G Property Portfolio to its range of recommended funds within the Academy of Funds, giving it an 'R' (Recommended) rating. Housed within a dedicated section on the Square Mile website and free for all advisers to access, Square Mile adds 'Recommended' rating to funds that they identify as having the best chance of meeting their objectives over the longer term.

Hermes Asia ex Japan Equity added to the Academy of Funds

Square Mile Investment Consulting & Research has added Hermes Asia ex Japan Equity to its Academy of Funds, giving it an A rating. Housed within a dedicated section on the Square Mile website and free for all advisers to access, recommended funds carry a rating - A, AA, or AAA - as a mark of quality and a reflection of the level of conviction Square Mile has in a fund's ability to deliver on expectations.

Schroders Have Announced Julie Dean will Shortly Be Leaving the Group

Together with Steve Cordell, she has co-managed the Schroders UK Absolute Target Return fund since June 2011. Mr Cordell will now take on sole responsibility. He is a key member of Schroders' Business Cycle team and has been investing in this style for over 15 years. We do not feel that Ms Dean's departure will adversely affect the fund's management and therefore have not suspended the A rating.

Square Mile suspends Threadneedle UK Fund following departure of  Simon Brazier and Blake Hutchins

Square Mile Investment Consulting & Research has suspended the A rating on the Threadneedle UK Fund following the departure of lead manager, Simon Brazier together with co-manager, Blake Hutchins, and three supporting analysts. The Threadneedle UK Fund will be suspended until Square Mile reviews the fund and can ascertain its management structure going forward.
