Square Mile adds Artemis US Select to its Academy of Funds

Square Mile has added the Artemis US Select Fund to its Academy of Funds, awarding it an A Rating.

Square Mile teams up with IFA network Sense

Square Mile has been chosen by national IFA network Sense to provide an additional range of portfolios for its members.

The six sample portfolios will use eValue's tools to establish risk parameters, helping Sense to meet governance requirements and put investors at the heart of decision making - a core facet of Sense's network. These services will be built into Sense's back-office system, run by Intelligent Office, from 29 April.

The Emerging Picture

As is widely known many emerging countries boast favourable demographics or are experiencing rapid urbanisation. Their markets can provide access to a long-term growth story where well-managed companies with unique assets, such as good distribution networks, are able to meet the demands of surging demographics and economic expansion. Questionable corporate governance, poor transparency, corruption and weakly functioning institutions are some of the risks of investing in the region.

Change of fund name-Newton Global Higher Income to Newton Global Income

The Newton Global Higher Income fund, which is part of the Square Mile Academy of funds, has changed its name to bring it inline with the titles of other equity income strategies at Newton. 

As such as of 1st April 2015 it is now called the Newton Global Income Fund.

Square Mile has added Fundsmith Equity and Investec UK Alpha to its Academy of Funds, awarding them an AA and an A rating, respectively.

Schroder fund name and process changes

Schroder have recently announced the following changes to the Schroder UK Absolute Target fund, effective as at 1st April 2015: 

 The fund's investment objective and policy has changed from investing in predominantly the UK to investing on a Pan-European basis. 

 The fund's name will be changed from the Schroder UK Absolute Target Fund to the Schroder European Absolute Target Fund.

Management changes in the Jupiter UK Growth and Jupiter Undervalued Assets

Following the announcement that Ian McVeigh will step down as co-manager of the Jupiter UK Growth fund at the end of April and pass on sole responsibility to co-manager Steve Davies, Square Mile has taken the decision to move the fund's rating to an 'A'. This change moves the UK Growth fund's rating in line with that of Undervalued Assets, a fund that Mr Davies has managed as sole manager using a very similar approach since January 2012. Whilst we recognise that Mr McVeigh's shift away from day to day fund management is a loss in terms of experience and market/stock debate, we hold Mr Davies in high regard and view him as a capable and thoughtful investor.

Square Mile adds Henderson Core Multi Asset range to its Academy of Funds

Square Mile Investment Consulting & Research (Square Mile) has added the Henderson Core Multi Asset range of funds to its Academy of Funds. The Henderson Core 3, 4 and 5 Income Funds and the Henderson Core 6 Income & Growth fund have all been analysed, and awarded a Recommended rating.
