Square Mile introduces the Matthews Asia China Small Companies fund to the Square Mile Academy of Funds

We believe the Matthews Asia China Small Companies has many elements that make it a promising long-term option for investors. The investment approach is sensible in what is a challenging space, rife with plenty of opportunities and threats. The manager aims to address the risks of investing in China's smaller companies using Matthews' in-depth research capability and strong due diligence processes.

This fund, and indeed the overall strategy, is currently fairly small but we would expect it to grow over time as investor interest increases in what is arguably a very exciting growth segment of the market.

Stephanie Bone joins Square Mile as Head of Marketing

Square Mile Investment Consulting and Research Ltd today confirms the appointment of Stephanie Bone as Head of Marketing with immediate effect. In this new role, Stephanie will work with the executive management team to develop and implement the company's marketing strategy across its investment advisory and asset management markets.

Stephanie brings nine years' of marketing experience, joining Square Mile from Cazenove Capital where she was Marketing Manager focusing on targeting financial advisers and private clients. Prior to this, she was at BlackRock for five years where she devised marketing campaigns for strategic partners and financial advisers. Stephanie holds a BA (Hons) first class degree in marketing from the University of Portsmouth.

7IM Team Change

Following the news that 7IM Chief Investment Officer, Chris Darbyshire, has left the business, Square Mile is retaining its 'Recommended" rating on the AAP and Multi-Manager fund ranges. We retain conviction in the investment team as they follow a collegiate approach and therefore have a relatively low level of associated key man risk.

Square Mile introduces the Dodge & Cox Global Stock fund to the Square Mile Academy of Funds

We are pleased to introduce the Dodge & Cox Global Stock fund to the Academy of Funds with an A rating.

This is a strategy managed by a firm that may be less well known in the UK and Europe, but which is a highly regarded organisation in the US, with a history dating back to 1930. Whilst this fund was launched in May 2008 (with a UCITS launch in 2009), it is an additional strategy to the firm's pre-existing equity range, US (1965) and International ex US (2001) funds, drawing upon the same investment ethos and established analyst resource.
