BNY Mellon Long-Term Global Equity - Rating Retained
Following the news that Executive Director of Investment at Walter Scott, Charlie Macquaker, will be retiring at the end of June 2026, we have decided to retain the AA rating on the BNY Mellon Long-Term Global Equity fund.
Whilst Mr Macquaker's experience will undoubtedly be a miss to the team at Walter Scott, we believe one of the key features of this strategy is that it does not rely on the strength of any individual, with a highly collegiate approach employed across a well-resourced team. In addition, as part of the succession planning, Head of Research, Alan Lander will assume many of Mr Macquaker's responsibilities, with the wider team also contributing further as he begins his transition over the next year. As a result, we are comfortable the departure doesn't meaningfully impact the team-based approach and are encouraged by what appears to be a sensible transition period.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr Macquaker on his long and distinguished career and wish him all the best in retirement.
