A Focus on Investor Outcomes

We research for investors but contract with advisers. Our sole focus in undertaking any fund research is to determine whether a fund’s stated objective is appropriate for an Investor, and then to consider whether the Fund Manager can consistently deliver that stated objective over the long term.

In our experience, investors do not necessarily understand, and are not interested in, fund performance that is measured against an arbitrary sector or investment benchmark. Investors need the reassurance and the peace of mind that funds selected as part of their portfolio provide them the best opportunities to meet their financial goals. Our aim is to assist the adviser in building investment solutions that meet these needs and to provide an on-going service that is truly valued by the investor.

Our research is therefore focused on the specific investor outcomes of Income, Capital Accumulation, Capital Preservation and Inflation Protection. In an investment world that is driven by investment outcomes, the fund’s objective is key and forms the basis of the “contract” with the Fund Manager and the investor.
